Description
In 2026, Canada marks 150 years since the introduction of the Indian Act in 1876, a law that has profoundly shaped the lives, rights, and experiences of First Nations peoples for generations.
This original Cree-Ations design acknowledges an important and complicated chapter in Canadian and Indigenous history. Featuring a northern landscape, sunset, and bold commemorative lettering, the artwork represents reflection, resilience, and the passage of time.
A Note from the Creator:
This design is not intended to express support for or opposition to the abolition of the Indian Act. It is neither an endorsement nor a condemnation of any particular position in the ongoing debate about its future.
